Felix Amieye -Ofori

Engr. Felix A.V is Managing Director/CEO of Energia Limited, Operator of Energia/Oando JV Ebendo (ex-Obodugwa)/Obodeti Marginal Fields in OML-56, Kwale, Delta State of Nigeria.
He graduated as best graduating student with Bachelors of Engineering with Second Class Upper degree, in Petroleum Engineering from University of Port-Harcourt, in 1987/88 session, and started his early Oil industry career as a Production Technologist with SPDC between 1990-1993, before Joining Pan Ocean Oil Corporation (Nig). He worked in Pan Ocean for about 15 years where he played very strategic roles that saw Pan Ocean growing its production from 700 bopd to nearly 20,000 bopd.
He was at various times, Chief Petroleum Engineer, Petroleum Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, and finally General Manager in 2005. He was General Manager, Joint Venture, Business Development, Nigerian Content Development, and finally new Business Development, during which he created a sister Company, Newcross Petroleum that Farmed into Platform’s Egboema (Umutu) Marginal Fields in 2005, and as the founding Manager, worked as the Technical Director of the Platform/Newcross Joint Venture that successfully brought first oil in November 2007 after installing a 10,000 bopd flowstation.
Engr. Felix also led his team to win a second oil block for Pan Ocean during the 2007 bidding rounds that changed the single block status of the company. He also played a very strategic role in the conception, contracting and construction of Pan Ocean’s Gas Processing Plant.
He finally retired voluntarily from Pan Ocean in February 2008 and joined Mart Resources, a Canadian E&P Company, as Deputy Managing Director, to manage its interests in three (3) Marginal Field Companies – Midwestern Oil & Gas, Del-Sigma Petroleum, and Network Petroleum. He led the Joint Venture Team of Marts/Midwestern/Suntrust to achieve First Oil of Umusadege Marginal Field in OML-56 in April 2008, and also successfully drilled and completed a development well before leaving Mart Resources in 2009 as Vice President Operations to set up a private Petroleum Engineering consulting service, where he was Field Development/Project Manager for several other Marginal Oil Field companies in Nigeria where he provided technical, operational, managerial, economics, and contractual, support/advice to these companies, before finally joining Energia as Managing Director/CEO in July 2009.
He led the Energia JV team to first oil production in December 2009, and successfully constructed the company’s 8.5 km crude export line. He has also successfully drilled and completed three (3) new development wells that have increased the production capacity of the company from 1800 bopd to 8000 bopd, and recoverable reserves from 6 million barrels to about 25 million barrels within these periods. Engr Felix also set up Community Trust Boards that are managing Community Trust Funds set up by the Joint Venture to provide sustainable development projects and human capital development for the host and impacted communities in Delta State. He was also instrumental to the setting up of a Standing Peace and Reconciliation Committee by the Delta State Government of Nigeria to handle all issues of intra and inter-communal conflicts within Energia area of operation.
Engr. Felix has MBA in International Business Management, from Lagos State University, MSc in Economics from ESUT Business School, Enugu, and has completed his graduate course work in Master in Petroleum Engineering with Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. He is presently studying for LLM in Business Law with Leicester De Montfort Law School, Leicester, United Kingdom.
He is a registered Engineer with COREN, a Member of Nigerian Society of Engineer (NSE), a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), and Ghana, a Chartered Manager with Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and Member Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is recipient of several awards including Development in Nigeria Merit Award (DINMA) for Oil and Gas, West African Executive Leadership per Excellence Award by Institute of Chartered Economists of Ghana, and 2013 International WHO’s WHO of Professionals.
