Johann started his career in 2002 working for BNP Paribas in Russia/CIS on structured financed deals (Reserves Based Lending) for small to large cap E&P independents. Afterwards he joined Addax Petroleum early 2006 to support the creation of the Corporate Finance department managing M&A and Investor Relations. Following the sale of APC to Sinopec, he joined the Lombard Odier Addax energy hedge fund set up with $500mm with JC Gandur (former owner of APC). In 2013, he joined AITEO Group to develop the Upstream department, which materialized by the 2.6bln acquisition of OML29 (largest onshore block in Sub-Sahara Africa and formerly owned by SPDC) in Nigeria. Since takeover, he took an active part - as executive director - in the revamping of the block, with production up to 95kbopd ( from 25kbopd). Johann completed his Executive MBA at HEC Paris. In additional he got a MSC Petroleum Engineering at the Herriot Watt University (UK) and a MSC Civil Engineering at ESTP Paris.
